LJIC Graduate Nicole Egeland
Nicole graduated from La' James International College in 2003 and is employed at Great Clips in Fort Dodge. Her words of wisdom to students entering the industry:
“There is light at the end of the tunnel. It is a lot of fun once you are out in the industry and well worth the hard work. Set goals and it is up to you how much you make.”
Her co-worker Amber Rouse, also a graduate, said
“Don’t give up! If you like what you do, it is not really work. Take advice from others.”

Dance Marathon

The University of Iowa Dance Marathon is a year round student run philanthropy dedicated to supporting pediatric oncology and bone marrow transplant patients and their families treated at The University of Iowa Children's Hospital.
Dance Marathon's culminates wtih a 24 hour long BIG EVENT in February. To date, Dance Marathon has raised over $7.5 million dollars for children with cancer being treated in Iowa City.

Kids Fest

- Students and staff from La’James International College volunteer their time and skills in the Hairy Tales Spa booth.
- In 2009, the booth raised $4,760 by doing hair, make-up and nails for children of all ages.
- Over 15,000 children and parents gather annually at the Children and Families of Iowa’s Kidsfest in Des Moines. ·
- Kidsfest is a kids-centered festival full of fun activities, games and entertainment for kids and their families.
- 100% of the price families pay for their tickets goes right back to helping families served by Children and Families of Iowa.

March of Dimes
- LJIC has been a gold sponsor of the Fort Dodge March of Dimes Walk since 2007
- Each year LJIC staff pass out water to the walkers along the route
YWCA
- Annually LJIC donates a decorated tree that is auctioned off for the Fort Dodge YWCA's Holiday Showcase fundraiser
